To all the ladies out there looking to get some indoor exercise in a male-free environment, SummerFest Abu Dhabi Sports for Women may be just what you’re looking for.
The last of three Tuesday evening sessions is coming up next week, so make sure you don’t miss the chance to get some free access to a host of activities, where women can mingle, make new friends, and practice their favourite sport.
Taking place at the du Forum on Yas Island, the event offers two one-hour yoga lessons, tennis, badminton, and on July 30 they will also be hosting a football event.
All the action will be from 20:00 onwards, so those fasting can have a light Iftar then head out to Yas Island for a nice evening of sport. The two free sessions for each sport will be at 20:00 and 21:00. But you have to register to make sure a slot is available in whichever sport you are interested in.
All sessions are suitable for beginners and will be conducted by a qualified female coach, and participants are advised to bring suitable clothing and footwear.
The venue will be restricted to ladies only (and boys under the age of five accompanying their mother or female carer), and changing rooms and showers are available at the du Forum.
Children are welcome to attend but must be supervised by their parent or carer at all times to ensure their safety as there is no child-care facility or service onsite. All the action takes place indoors so if you’re worried about the heat or humidity, the climate-controlled venue provides the perfect setting.
There are virtually no indoor tennis facilities in the country so fans of the sport have a great opportunity here to enjoy a nice hit away from the challenging July weather. All the equipment is available onsite, so if you don’t have your own racquet, organisers will provide you with everything you need.
